Camel Hair CoatsLooking for a great traditional and stylish coat? Camel hair coats offer some great features in addition to the stylish appearance. Since camel hair coats look best in the very simple designs, I'm not sure there is a lot of value to the designer versions costing 10 times more but style is a personal choice. Budget Factor: Camel hair coats are very reasonable in price. If they are well cared for they can certainly outlast many synthetic and natural materials. Prices range from a low of $75 to $130 for a full length coat at a major department store with their brand. Jackets are a little lower in price. The designer or name brand has more of an impact that the fact that it is made with camel hair. The trick to getting many years of service is to make sure you store them over the summer with moth balls or some deterrent from any hungry insects. Care and Cleaning: Camel hair coats should be dry cleaned or had washed with a mild detergent like woolite. Never use stain removers unless test first in hidden area to make sure they won't harm the material. Never put wet garment in a dryer, you could take towels to press against the material to extract moisture and then hang dry. Camel hair coats and jackets offer both a always in style appearance and extremly good protection against the cold.
